Two of South Africa’s top racing drivers, Etienne van der Linde and Lee Thompson , have teamed up to establish a new racing driver school, RACECRAFT, based at Zwartkops Raceway west of Pretoria.

“We’re very excited about our new venture, which is based along the lines of the famous Jim Russell Driving School in the UK and the Skip Barber School in the US,” said Etienne.  “Lee and I will be the instructors and training will include both theory and practical.  We also have our own state-of-the-art driving simulator.”

RACECRAFT was born in 2011 and delivers a combination of high quality instruction, equipment, facilities and memorable experiences.  Their natural-born talents and great passion for racing motivates Etienne and Lee to deliver training and services at the highest level.

“Our vision is to always offer training and services of the highest quality and consistency,” added Thompson.

These are just some of the core services offered by RACECRAFT:
Development of racing driver skills at all levels including one-on-one training.

Lectures focusing on different aspects of motor sport.
Simulator and on track training.
Comprehensive advice on racing car set up.
Optimising the use of data logging and analysis.

Working closely with Motorsport South Africa, RACECRAFT will be actively involved in driver development programmes, identifying and nurturing new racing talent in South Africa, and moulding the champions of tomorrow from all communities.  Also offered are corporate and team building programmes and group training courses.

RACECRAFT enjoys the support of the Autoquip Group, FirstRace, Ferodo Racing, BMT College, Volkswagen Racing, Scheckter’s Organic Energy, Demac Autobody and Vanderlinde Systems.
