General Motors continues with its badge-engineering by announcing the new Opel Mokka compact SUV. It’s exactly the same (apart from the badges) as the Buick Encore and
Vauxhall Mokka. We in South Africa
are only interested in the Opel of course, and hope the local operation seriously considers bringing it over
here.
Small by nature, the Mokka – perhaps it’s how you spell mocca in other countries? – is 4.3 metres long, 1.7m wide, 1.6m high
and has a wheelbase of 2.6m. In terms of size rivals, we can look at the BMW X1, MINI Countryman and Audi Q3.
Power comes from a fairly robust range of engines that include a 1.4-litre turbo with 103kW
and 200Nm, as well as a 1.7-litre CDTI pushing through 93kW and 300Nm.
Opel says it will start selling the Mokka in Europe at the end of the year.
So many other cars in this let me see, Kia is there also some Hyundai and even some China stuff.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. No real differentiating factor here.
