The interweb is
abuzz with official pictures of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SL roadster, which were leaked from what appears to
be a sales and marketing brochure. Someone
scanned them of course, and then
proceeded to send them out to all and sundry.
The brand new SL is expected to debut at the 2012 North American International Auto Show
in Detroit next month, where it will be detailed a bit more. However, because
Merc cars share their engines, we can confirm some of these for the SL. They include
the new 4.6-litre twin turbo petrol
with about 320kW for the SL 500, as well as the 5.5-litre twin turbo V8 pushing out
between 386kW and 420kW in the SL 63 AMG version.
The car obviously features a hard electronically folding top which probably features the
Magic SKY system which lightens or dims the glass sunroof,
thus negating the need for a folding cover. Others will include things like
Comand with satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and LED daytime
running lights among others.
It looks fat fat fat
