FORD HONOURS TOP TECHNICIANS

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa’s (FMCSA) Technical Training Department hosted their 2011 Master Technicians Award Ceremony on Friday 09 December 2011. Over 40 technicians in the Gauteng Region were honoured at the event.

“We believe that in order to ensure continued success, it is imperative that we invest in our people,” said Jeff Nemeth, president & CEO Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa.  “By recognising the achievements of our technicians we are able to advance a culture of perseverance and continued achievement.”

Technicians were awarded certificates on all three levels of the Ford Masters Programme, while the FMCSA Technician of the Year was also announced. This year the award went to Zakhele Dlamini of Carson Auto Swaziland. Dlamini obtained the highest examination marks of all the Ford technicians in Southern Africa.

Dlamini was also awarded his Level 3 Master Technician certification as well as a Regional (Gauteng) Winners certification. Dlamini’s name will be displayed in the FMCSA's Technicians Hall of Fame and to top it off he also received a model 427 FE Shelby Cobra engine.

“At FMCSA we are striving to compete on the global stage and in order to do so we require a strong pool of talent and skills to draw from. I’d like to congratulate Zakhele and all the other technicians who were honoured at this year’s awards,” concluded Nemeth.
