With Ford’s 2.0-litre
EcoBoost Focus ST engine pushing out 184kW,
you’d expect half that engine to make 92kW.
Incidentally it does. Introducing the turbocharged, direct injection 1.0-litre EcoBoost, scheduled for a 2012 debut. First car to get it will be
the Focus, not the Fiesta strange enough. Of course at some point it will make
its way to Mzansi as well.
Two versions are being discussed; one making 74kW and emitting 109g/km in C02s. Second version delivers said 92kW and 170Nm, with a 30Nm overboost in overtaking. That one
is set to return 5 litres per 100km and 114
g/km. interestingly two generations ago Ford had a 2.0-litre naturally
aspirated engine producing 96kW. How progressive things have been.
How many cylinders?
