Ford will unveil its new Focus ST hatch at the 2011 Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS), even before media get to drive it. The ST is based on the new Focus hatch, but is of course stuffed with red hot chilli peppers for all the unsuspecting drivers out there. Not that it’s subtle in any way though.
Power goes to the front wheels using a new 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbo engine worth a compelling 184kW as well as maximum torque of 360Nm. The transmission used is a 6-speed manual. With extensive testing procedures, Ford’s Global Performance Vehicles group made sure different fuel grades from around the world would not hamper the ST’s performance progress. Not even our worst fuels will stop it.
Check it out at JIMS 2011 which takes place at NASREC near the FNB stadium in Jozi, from 8 to 16 October.
