Geely South Africa has expanded its dealer network from just 12 about a year ago, to what is now 41 dealerships across the country. Geely is a brand from China and it also owns Volvo Cars which it bought from Ford last year at a price of US$1.8 billion (R12.3 billion today). According to Geely SA, sales of its new cars are also quite robust.
Latest to the local range is the Geely LC, a sub-compact entry-level hatchback with a price tag of R90 000. “Initially, while we waited for the arrival of the new LC Geely product we were able to focus on strengthening the dealer network and raising the level of customer satisfaction in both the sales and after sales areas,” said John Jessup, company CEO.
Geely is looking at seriously matching the network expansion with a spike in product offerings over the next few years.
“We are looking closely at the extensive range of Geely cars,” says Jessup. “SUVs and light commercials and we will enter at least one further major new market segment each year for the next three years.”
