Robin Green Motorsport (RGM), commonly referred to as Rob Green Motors by the traditionalists, has whacked out some serious power out of an E92 (E90 Coupe) BMW M3. From the standard 4.0-litre V8 with 309kW comes something beyond the fairyland of supercar territory. Meet the Orange Lozenge of Randburg.
Officially called the M3 GTRS 3S, the car is mainly worked hard by a Vortech supercharger system that increases boost to 0.65 Bar when run to the equivalent of 105 unleaded octane. Maximum power is now an extremely sweaty 560kW, with peak torque pegged at 680Nm. That's more potent than the new Lamborghini Aventador! RGM hasn’t released any performance figures yet but we expect a 0 – 100km/h time of around 3.2 seconds at Gauteng altitude.
Body kit is a full-on Vörsteiner dress-up, from the front bumper with a splitter, new front fenders, side skirts, and a new rear bumper, to the carbon fibre bonnet and bootlid. The car rides 15mm lower than standard and its electronic damper control system (EDC) is said to combine good ride quality with even better body control. Around 14 positions can be adjusted for. RGM fitted Michelin Pilot Sport 2 rubber measuring 285/25 up front and 325/25 at the rear.
Only 100 of these cars will be built, with 25 units staying at home in Mzansi. We can only pray that RGM displays one of them at the 2011 Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS 2011) this October. It really looks meaner than the international M3 GTS.
holy holy moly !!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love *singing*
ReplyDeletewith its power to weight ratio I'm sure it will hit 2.7 seconds or so.
ReplyDeleteThe kit alone looks amazing
ReplyDeleteHola jozi! One would think that someone in Durbs would have come up with this. Oh, then again the guys in Durbs would prioretise the sound system over the performance.
