Audi wants in on the BMW X6’s apparent sales success. A rumour reported by Autoweek suggests Ingolstadt cannot simply close its eyes to the X6 and is now seriously investigating its own for the segment. Some are calling it the Q6, while others prefer the name Q8. Whatever it will be named, the SUV coupe should be a hit on showroom floors.
A Q6/ Q8 would stand between the Q5 and Q7, probably hit the market in the year 2015 or 2016 if development has already been approved. By then an all-new X6 will also be available for sale. Engines would naturally be shared with the Audi family of upper-class vehicles, including the Q7, A7 Sportback and A6. Even a hybrid is possible at that level, while an RS model would certainly come into play.
i must be the only one who adores the x6 ooohhhh my goodness!
ReplyDeleteI still dont quite get the need for the X6 segment, and here goes Audi jumping on the band wagon.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever heard of the saying blind leading the blind then you can understand where I'm coming from with both X6 and Q8.
ReplyDeletemY 2C worth is this; the X6 will remain on top. Just look how the X5 dispensed the Q7 many times
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Q8 on this one. Q6 doesn't make sense because it would mean it falls under the Q7.
ReplyDeleteWhat a useless ploy by Audi. They won't make it for this level.
