BYE CHRYSLER SEBRING, HELLO 200

Chrysler released pictures and a bit of info on the all-new Chrysler 200, a smaller sedan wanting to capture the same market as cars like the Hyundai Sonata and Mazda6. Having made its debut several years ago as the Sebring, the 200 is essentially a heavily facelifted Sebring aiming to redress most of the complaints levelled against its predecessor. It will start selling at US dealerships this November, with international launches scheduled for 2011.

The 200 is said to feature high quality materials and good craftsmanship both inside out. Without any interior shots to refer to we’ll have to take Chrysler’s word on the matter. Nevertheless there are some nice technologies like LED tail lights, new fog lights and a new instrument panel.

Engines will include a 2.4-litre worth about 130kW and a 3.6-litre V6 producing something like 210kW or so. Two automatic gearboxes are fitted; one a four-speed (yes, they still make these) and a more modern 6-speed.
