After introducing no less than 12 new models in the past 18 months, few would argue that Renault South Africa offers car buyers one of the most diverse and up-to-date model ranges on the local market.
That line-up currently embraces a spectrum of sedans, hatchbacks, coupés. SUVs and MPVs to suit all tastes, budgets and requirements. However, despite this comprehensive model offering, Renault SA has a few more aces up its sleeve: six brand new models, to be exact, all due for launch in the next four months.

However, despite this comprehensive model offering, Renault SA has a few more aces up its sleeve: six brand new models, to be exact, all due for launch in the next four months.
Renault Clio S
First up will be an exciting new addition to the Clio line-up. Badged the Clio S, and based on the 1.6 Dynamique derivative, this new version is targeting younger, spirited drivers seeking a car with an athletic, extrovert character. The pricing will be a pleasant surprise, too.
Limited numbers of Renault Sport models
Two special-edition models will be added to the Renault Sport family. The first of these celebrates the 20th Anniversary of Clio with a special-edition Clio RS, featuring unique finishes and trim, together with the RS ‘Cup’ suspension and chassis.
Twingo RS Gordini
Also due to make its local debut is the evocative Gordini-edition of the Twingo RS. Celebrating the famous racing nameplate so closely associated with Renault, the Twingo RS Gordini is finished in an eye-catching blue colour scheme, and also gets special interior detailing.
Two New Mégane family members
One of the most eagerly awaited newcomers from the Renault stable is the New Mégane Renault Sport. Based on the Mégane Coupé, but with a bespoke suspension and high-power turbo engine, the New Mégane RS has adrenalin-pumping performance written all over it. The high-tech powerplant produces 184kW of power linked to a torque peak of 340Nm.
The second addition to the Mégane family is the elegant Mégane Coupé Cabriolet, with its all-glass folding roof that stows away at the push of a button. Effectively two cars in one – sleek coupé and sexy cabriolet – the new Mégane CC also offers exceptional comfort and impressive quality.
Another SA-manufactured Renault
Perhaps the biggest surprise of all is the launch, towards the end of the year, of a further locally produced Renault product.
Following a further significant investment in local assembly capability, the new vehicle will form part of the Sandero product family and will also be assembled at the Rosslyn production facility. It will give Renault a unique and value-priced contender, while allowing the marque to compete in yet another market segment.
