MORE SEVERE BUGATTI VEYRON SUPER SPORT WOWS AMERICA

An even faster Bugatti Veyron is now out on the streets and was last week unveiled at the Quail Motorsports Gathering in the US. The Veyron Super Sport features the same 8.0-litre, 16-cylinder four-turbo engine, but power is upped significantly.

The car makes a severe 882kW and 1500Nm of torque, both of which should hurl it from 0 – 100km/h in less than 2 seconds. Top speed has been certified as the fastest of any other road car, at 430km/h. This new land-speed record was achieved at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien track near Wolfsburg and was officially recorded by people from Guinness World Records.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on who you ask, the car will be limited to 415km/h when it goes into production. Surely we will see a challenge for this record coming from all sorts of places, including McLaren and Koenigsegg?
