VOLKSWAGEN OVERTAKES TOYOTA

The Volkswagen Group has become the biggest motor manufacturer in the world, overtaking the current incumbent Toyota which itself had overtaken General Motors just two years ago. Mind you we aren’t talking sales here but production. VW has built 4.4 million cars so far in 2009 while Toyota has only managed 4 million. Of course the Japs could claim they only build cars they can sell while the Germans will insist that they will sell the cars they build.

Volkswagen owns brands such as Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda, Bugatti and Bentley.
